Sponsorships
Southern Cross Humanitarian is committed to changing the label of "children-at-risk" to "children-of-promise" with a new life free of starvation, disease, and fear, to one of hope for a positive future. You can help make this happen by:
- Sponsoring-A-Child:
Children under the care of Southern Cross have either been abandoned or are at-risk of being so due to extreme poverty. Children at risk are often abused and/or have little formal education. Their situation leads to low self-esteem, skepticism, mistrust, insecurity, independence, aggressiveness, attachment and/or other emotional disorders. We work with children under our care to provide the basics of food, hygiene and greater access to education. We also have interns who are able to work one-on-one with children fostering personal identity, self esteem, habits of cleanliness, order, discipline and work. Our aim is to have our children adapt successfully into society by having the tools and experiences to communicate and decide their own development. Upon child sponsorship, we will provide more details about your child and invite you to get to know them. To sponsor one of these children, download the application here or call us at 801-397-5578 to receive more information about the process.
- Sponsoring a Project:
Sponsoring projects provides long-term solutions for hundreds of children. Our long term projects focus on food in the schools and are developed working directly with communities. Locals educate Southern Cross on their needs, then expeditions help establish them with volunteers on expeditions. Projects are maintained by locals. For the opportunity to sponsor projects, please download the following: donations form.
- General Donations:
General donations assist the daily operations involved in sustaining, overseeing and developing projects. Most importantly, general donations help assist our efforts in spending more one-on-one time working directly benefiting the lives of children instead of spending that time fundraising.
Why the need for Southern Cross Humanitarian?
Millions of children in South America live without adequate food, shelter, clothing or education. Given the lack of social, political and familial structures and resources, many children are driven to live on the streets and fail to learn how to utilize resources, opportunities and personal strengths. Southern Cross is committed to change this through sponsoring children and humanitarian expeditions implementing projects with long-term solutions for children. Building upon basic needs as the priority, we work to provide the building blocks for positive futures for each child under our care.
Sponsoring a child can make all the difference in a child's life, and yours, as you have the unique opportunity to provide continuity, security and hope and a provide a bridge from your world to theirs, where there had been none. 100% of child sponsorship funds are used for the operational needs of children at risk in South America. Specific funding amounts are distributed, as required, to help these homes and centers with their operational needs. For full details on our Sponsorship Programs, please review the following: more info
